Vintage Kawai EP 705 Electric Piano

$1,995.00

Because it’s a real piano inside, it requires tuning; however, since it has one string per key, tuning is not a major task and can be done as a DIY project. If you’ve seen or heard a Yamaha CP-70/80, you’ll have a general idea of what this instrument is like, but in my opinion, the pickups and tone of the Kawai models are superior.

It features electronic pickups with stereo outputs on the back, along with an effects patch in/out. It also has built-in tremolo and three different clean-sound settings. The case transforms into the stand for the piano—a very clever design.

It is in superb condition. All internal piano mechanics are clean and fully functional, though the action is beginning to show minor signs of the instrument having been stored vertically (as designed for transport) for an extended period and not played often enough. The electronics work perfectly, the original power supply performs reliably, and it sounds fantastic. It’s a fun and rare piece of 1970s keyboard history, and I loved owning it. I never experienced any stability issues.

Comes with original parts, including:

  • Sustain pedal with brace

  • Power supply
